#1A CONCLUSIVE STUDY ON THE ARCHAIC PATHWAYS ON THE AGE-OLD ASTRONOMY.

THE EVOLUTION OF ASTRONOMY

Hello!…. And Welcome to Learn Immense where you can achieve answers to any problems ever raised…… Today let’s just understand the basic Archaic framework on which the science of Astronomy scales its origin and evolution throughout the different civilizations of the Ancient World. And how our forefathers have discreetly involved Astronomical studies in their day-to-day life.

The traditional usage

Humans have always been very abruptly curious beings. Our Human brain consists of billions of Neurons to pass on the information from one cell to another. And hence we are the most complex creatures to ever exist. And We are evolving bigtime!!…… So the fundamental analytics of individual knowledge emancipated itself from our Curiosity…And our forefathers on the other hand has been continuously coming up with discoveries in the past. And since there was no other way of entertaining one another, they were constantly wondering about the mundane things around them. Let me just give a quick prologue on the evasive Astronomical discoveries from civilizations all around the world.

The possible applications

The Ancient civilizations had their evolutionary ideas regarding the world and also the world up above. So a natural question arises What did the Ancient civilizations used Astronomy for?……. The answer to this question was quite simple.

  • Daily timekeeping.
  • Trackingthe Seasons and calendar.
  • Monitoring Lunar cycles.
  • Monitoring planetary positions for religious references.
  • Predicting Eclipses.

Ancient Africans

One of the oldest human settlements was found to be evaluated in this particular continent. Back in 6500 BC, Ancient Africans used Astronomical studies to predict seasons from the orientation of the crescent Moon near the western horizon of the sky. By employing this prediction, they evaluated different cropping pattern for Agriculture as in the case of the following

Jan-Feb = Dry season.

Mar-Oct = Wet season/Rainy.

Nov-Dec = dry season.

Africa is the home for the worlds oldest Technological achievement in the world with the evidence found in the Northern part of the continent . A 7000 year old circle of stoned erected known a THE NABTA PLAYA located in the Abu Simbel region of Egypt was considered as the oldest astronomical site of the world, older than the stone hedge. This stone circle tracked the summer solstices and also the Arrival of monsoon. Ancient Egyptians employed different yet functional procedures of Astronomy and created an instrument known as the Egyptian OBELISK which is used to predict time.

The Egyptian civilization was the first to propose a 365 day calendar to calculate the days. The calendar was created by taking the stellar observations .And also during the 12th century The Astrolabic cube was also invented by the Egyptians. The Timbuktu clan of the western African continent were the first to employ the astronomical observations on solving complex mathematical functions. And they also portrayed the heliocentric ideaology. The Eastern African side constructed the megalithic pillar sites known as the  NAMORATUNGA dated as early as 5000 years ago can be found surrounding the lake Turkana in kenya , initial interpretations suggest that they were constructed b the people of Cushitic community to regulate an alignment with the star systems.

The European countries

Great Britain possesses the most important Astronomical heritage site known as Stonehenge which is a prehistoric monument that scales its origin towards the Neolithic and Bronze Era. The whole monument is oriented towards the Sun during the summer solstice. The Nebra sky Disk is another interesting yet pulmonate discovery from Germany which scales its origin from the late Bronze age or the early Iron age. This disk features the oldest depiction of the cosmos. This disk was considered one of the most important archaeological finds of the twentieth century.
